Acacia Subsidiary Enters into Settlement Agreement with Sage

Acacia Research Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTG) announced today that its Document Generation Corporation subsidiary has entered into a settlement agreement with Sage Software Healthcare, LLC covering patents relating to document generation software. The agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas with respect to certain Sage products.

The document generation technology generally relates to the generation of a document utilizing user-modifiable document structures, a database including information to be placed into a particular document structure, and a computing device which combines the particular document structure with relevant information stored in the database.
