Messaging Security Technology from Commtouch Chosen to Enhance Zoznam Webmail Services

Commtouch® (NASDAQ: CTCH) and Zoznam today announced that Zoznam will be enhancing its Freemail service with Commtouch messaging security services based on Recurrent Pattern Detection™ (RPD™) and GlobalView™ Reputation technology. Zoznam is part of Slovak Telekom, a majority-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.

Zoznam, one of Slovakia’s top two leading portals, is integrating the following Commtouch offerings into its platform:

• GlobalView Mail Reputation, which deflects more than 80% of unwanted mail at the network perimeter, providing a significant savings on IT resources such as bandwidth and storage
• Commtouch Anti-Spam, which blocks spam in any language, and regardless of its content or attachment type
• Zero-Hour™ Virus Outbreak Protection, which defends against new types of email-borne malware in the crucial first minutes of an outbreak, during the vulnerable window before traditional anti-virus engines have provided a signature

Free email providers are typically the targets of vast amounts of spam, because many of their subscribers use free accounts specifically for the purpose of registering on different Web sites including online shopping and newsletters, and are therefore often targeted for spam. As a result, free email providers need to rely on best-of-breed email filtering solutions to minimize overhead costs and the spam their users see.
