International Rectifier, IR® (NYSE:IRF), a world leader in power management technology, today announced that it has received an environmental management award from the National Microelectronics Institute (NMI).
The NMI presented the award for Environmental Awareness to IR based on the company’s demonstrated commitment to continuously reducing its impact on the environment through reduction in energy, raw materials and waste minimization. In making the award, the judges concluded that International Rectifier’s “Free Cooling” project undertaken at its Newport manufacturing facility demonstrated impressive performance for energy and related financial savings, long-term sustainability and the potential to share knowledge with fellow members.
