Item 8.01. Other Events.

On May 19, 2014, the U. S. Department of Justice unsealed an indictment against certain individuals in connection with cybercrimes allegedly committed against U. S. Steel and other entities. U. S. Steel is cooperating with the U. S. government in this ongoing matter. U. S. Steel continues to implement enhancements and improvements to safeguard its systems from cyberattacks.  The Company is currently unable to determine the materiality, if any, of these events.
