Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
On July 28, 2005, Massey Energy Company (the “Registrant”) issued a press release regarding its unaudited financial results for the three months and six months ended June 30, 2005. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference into this Item 2.02.
