Item 8.01. Other Events
On September 30, 2015, ACE Limited (ACE) received notice from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission that it had granted early termination, effective immediately, of the applicable waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 (HSR Act) for ACEs pending acquisition of The Chubb Corporation (Chubb).
The early termination of the waiting period under the HSR Act satisfies one of the conditions to the closing of the transaction, which remains subject to other customary closing conditions, including receipt of shareholder and other regulatory approvals.
