IBEW e.mail sent on July 19
To the Leadership Team of IBEW,
Today, Wednesday July 19, Avista Corporation announced that it will become a subsidiary of Hydo One, Ontario, Canadas largest electricity transmission and distribution provider. The attached e-mail was distributed to all employees of Avista announcing this transaction.
Respecting the long partnership that Avista has had with the IBEW, notifying you and the membership of this opportunity as quickly as possible is one of our highest priorities.
This is a new time for Avista, our employees, and the IBEW. Our partnership with Hydro One is intended to help preserve the identity and legacy we have created over the past 128 years while allowing us to continue charting our own course as a wholly owned subsidiary of Hydro One. This transaction partners Avista with a company who also shares our deep respect for a healthy workplace culture and is grounded in values centered around employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
Avistas has scheduled multiple employee meetings to share more details and questions. We are also committed to continued external communication, including the IBEW, as the transaction moves forward.
If you have immediate questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out directly to me as I will be your primary point of contact.
