Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.

On November 2, 2005, Diebold, Incorporated (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that Michael R. Moore was named vice president and corporate controller. Mr. Moore previously filled this role on an interim basis. Mr. Moore joined the Company in 1984 and has held various management-level finance positions within the Company, including director of corporate planning and analysis; financial controller, Diebold International; and chief financial officer of the Company's operation in Brazil (Procomp). A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
