Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On October 19, 2007, the Board of Directors of The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. (the Company) elected Mary J. Steele Guilfoile as a non-management director. Ms. Guilfoile was also appointed to serve as a member of the Audit Committee.
Ms. Guilfoiles compensation for her service as a director will be consistent with that of the Companys other non-management directors, as described in the Companys proxy statement, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 25, 2007, under Non-Management Director Compensation.
