Suncor Energy (TSX: SU), $37.10, +$0.66, 1.81%, produces several refinery feedstock, diesel fuel and by-products with its focus on developing the Athabasca oil sands in northeastern Alberta. The company is making gains today, trading near its high of $37.12. Suncor confirmed that its Board of Directors approved the company’s $5.5 billion capital spending plans for 2010. Of that, 41.5 billion will be applied towards growth project funding, primarily at the company’s oil sands operations, with $4 billion will be applied towards sustaining existing operations. Looking forward, Rick George, Suncor’s president and CEO states “While we’ve seen some improvement in crude oil prices and the overall economy, we believe that a conservative capital strategy remains the best approach for Suncor.”
Osisko Mining Corporation (TSX: OSK), $7.98, +$0.17, 2.18%, is trading near its high today of $7.99 with higher volume this morning compared to yesterday’s close. Osiskoannounced that it has signed an Option and Joint Venture Agreement with Orex Exploration Inc. for the Goldboro gold property. Osisko has a working right and exclusive option to acquire up to a 60% undivided interest in Orex’s Goldboro gold property and surrounding claims located in Nova Scotia. Osisko is a mine developer based in Canada.
Del Global Technologies (OTCBB: DGTC), $0.55, +$0.15, 37.50%, is a leader in radiographic and portable imaging systems, and in electronic systems and components. The company is making gains today, and trading at its high. Del Global announced that along with United Marketing Group it has entered into an Agreement in Principle to transfer certain assets and the product lines of Del Medical Imaging from Del Global to UMG. Both parties hope to have this transaction completed before the end of the month.
Neo Material Technologies (TSX: NEM), $4.43, +$0.33, 8.05%, is a producer, processor and developer of neo powders, rare earths and zirconium based engineered materials and applications. Neo Material is trading with gains of over 8% at a volume of 3.8 million compared to yesterday’s close of 610,000. The company reports on its third quarter financials with revenues of $54.1 million, with net income of $9.1 million. Melkior Resources Inc. (TSX-V: MKR), $0.325, +$0.055, 20.37%, the company is making gains today of over 20%, reaching a high of $0.34, with 1 million shares traded on no news. The company closed yesterday at a volume of 189,000. Melkior Resources is a resource exploration company with diversified properties in exposure to gold, base metals, and uranium, all within Ontario and Quebec.
