Ace puts $1.1 billion to work buying crop insurer

Ace Ltd. agrees to buy the rest of crop insurer Rain & Hail Insurance Service it didn’t already own, putting more than $1 billion of capital to work in a deal expected to contribute to the insurer's bottom line in 2011.
