HSTi Launches Mobostick, a Wireless USB Virtual Adapter/Streamer for Android Smartphones and Tablets

Wireless USB adapter for Android Smartphones and Tablets mobostick™ brings to Android, media streaming and file sharing to pretty much any device equipped with a USB port.

Calgary, Canada - mobostick™ mobostick brings to Android, media streaming and file sharing to pretty much any device equipped with a USB port. Based on HSTi’s award-winning proprietary technology, mobostick™ allows Android phones and tablets to securely stream files, wirelessly, anywhere. The technology consists of the free mobostick App and the flash-drive-looking mobostick hardware. An intuitive file manager built into the mobostick App, allows the file sharing while the mobostick hardware plugs into the USB port of any device like a PC, Mac, media player, game console, television, stereo or digital picture frame. Wi-Fi is how mobostick connects to the phone and reads its files in two modes: through the home wireless router or the Android built in Access Point / hotspot. A device reads the mobostick™ like a flash drive however, the files that appear to be stored in the mobostick reside back in the Android phone or tablet. Files are streamed from the phone when playback or copy starts.

Unique to the market, mobostick™ brings videos, music and photos from the phone's internal and external storage anywhere a USB port is present. Android users no longer need to carry cables and they can stream media files from their phone or tablet.

“As Smartphones and Tablets gain momentum in the market, the gap between device integration widens. In the current economic environment not all of us have the luxury of purchasing new appliances in order to enjoy media files we generate with our mobile devices. Android devices now have an accessory that offers seamless integration with the user’s existing device ecosystem even when a wireless router is not present” said Harry Diamantopoulos, Managing Director of HSTi.

Complementing Android built-in technologies like DLNA Apps, the mobostick works with media as well as any file type like word, presentations, spreadsheets, text etc. It is portable and it does not require a DLNA enabled device on the other end. mobostick™ allows copying of files from the Android device in addition to streaming them, something that current technologies are unable to do.
All that, combined with the portability of an Android device, allow one to stream music in the car, copy files from a tablet at school, share presentations in the office or show pictures and videos to friends without having to join their networks or reconfigure the device.
