U.S. Armed Forces to Meet 25% to 50% of Energy Needs from 'Green Fuels'

SUGAR LAND--October 24, 2011--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The world's most powerful and well-funded military, the United States Armed Forces, is looking to "go green" by obtaining 25% to 50% of its energy needs from renewable biofuels. The U.S. Air Force is ahead of schedule in preparing to certify more than 40 aircraft models to use renewable fuels by 2013, three years ahead of the target year of 2016. The U.S. Army's schedule is to have 25% of its fuel needs from biofuels by 2025, and the Navy and Marines plan to shift half of their fuel needs to renewables by 2020.
