HP Takes $8.8 Billion Write-Down For Autonomy
Computer and printer leader Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) dropped more bad news on investors Tuesday as it took an $8.8 billion charge related to its troubled acquisition of software firm Autonomy. HP accused Autonomy's management of lying about its finances. HP bought the British software company last year in a controversial $9.7 billion deal.
