For country music fans, it’s a perfect 8 second bull ride as “Nashville Unplugged” continues to climb in popularity among the most loyal Nashville followers. Although country music has changed over the last decade, it still has the roots of classic country but has been enhanced with a pop twist. The charts confirm that it has transformed into mainstream, appealing to growing audiences daily, Nashville Unplugged is the premier shows to introduce real country music with its “top 40 Carrie Underwood spin” to the town of glitter and lights.

(IJRNEWS 1/14/2013) Like it or not, the way humans live and the things they go through are real and country music expresses this. In fact, the power could be stemmed from the fact that the lyrics relate to millions of people from all over the world, experiencing the same emotions. Country music is the story-telling of people's lives, and some people are destined to tell it better than others.

Las Vegas has more shows happening on any given night than one can count with both hands of the population of India. However, there's one show that could arguably be the best show in all of Vegas, a gem, called "Nashville Unplugged: The Story behind the Song." This is a show like none other. Hit songwriters fly in from all over to  perform the very songs they wrote. Songwriters like Mike Dekle who wrote the smash hit "Country Must Be Countrywide" performed by Brantley Gilbert. Songs like Garth Brooks' "The Dance" by Tony Arata. Imagine Tony sitting in a living room and singing an emotional version of his song at arm's length. Everyone can experience that intimate setting first hand when going to the show.

IJRNEWS watched first hand and interviewed countless attendees that all seemed to be dumbfounded on the stories and emphasized the elevated level of talent witness that unfortunately as one interviewee put it, “Puts most Las Vegas shows down to the level of a Carnival Cruise ship talent pool.”

The hosts of the show are two talented singer/songwriters themselves, Aaron Benward and Brian McComas. Individually, they both have had quite successful music careers with numerous chart topping songs. Brian is known for his singles "99.9% Sure (I've never Been Here Before)" and "You're In My Head" to name a few, while Aaron was half the Blue County duo releasing hits like "Good Little Girls" and "I Get To".

Together the guys are like two Nashville brothers interacting almost as one. They create a humorous and unrehearsed show of humor and knowledge. The audience gets to feel like they personally know some of the best songwriters out there and leave with a feeling that perhaps they didn’t pay enough for the entertainment they just witnessed.

This type of show is common in cities like Nashville where songwriters each take their turn and perform a song they wrote. However, the Vegas audience gets to experience "Songs from a Hat"... a one-of-a-kind songwriting experience where the audience gets to make up a song title and have Aaron and Brian write the song in about thirty minutes. Known country expert, Stephen Thomas, was quoted as saying, “There is just nothing like it and definitely a must see!”

This show may be Las Vegas' best kept secret, but the cat has been let out of the cowboy hat…or bag. Although already reviewed as “one of the best shows in Vegas” by major reviews, the venue at Red Rock Hotel and Casino is packed each week, and one can only hope its available for a while longer.

Shows start at 8pm every Friday night with doors opening at 7:15pm at The Red Rock Casino, one of the newest and highly acclaimed casino’s in Las Vegas, and for the time being admission is only $5.
