McGraw-Hill Fires Back On Faulty Ratings Allegations
McGraw-Hill (MHP) fired back at the Justice Department on Tuesday, saying the government's allegations that its S&P unit knowingly pumped up ratings on lousy housing-related investments during the last housing bubble were baseless. The data, information and analysis firm was responding to the government's lawsuit last week, in which federal officials accused S&P of defrauding investors. The government is seeking $5 billion.
