The stock split will make MasterCard shares more affordable for the average investor, while the dividend increase and share repurchase make shares more attractive to yield- and value-hungry investors.

Dividend-Paying Stocks That Just Hiked Their Payouts

Aetna Inc. (NYSE: AET) raised its quarterly dividend 12.5% to $0.22 a share, up from $0.20 for a 1.38% yield.

Avago Technologies (Nasdaq: AVGO) increased its quarterly dividend 8.7% to $0.25 a share, up from $0.23. Shares yield 2.2%.

Buckle Inc. (NYSE: BKE) boosted its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.22 a share, up from $0.20. Additionally, the medium-to-higher priced apparel retailer will pay a $1.20 a share extra (special) dividend, worth in total some $58 million.

Comtech TeleComm Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) increased its quarterly dividend to $0.30 a share from $0.27. The new yield is 3.75%.

Douglas Dynamics Inc. (NYSE: PLOW) raised its quarterly dividend 2.4% to $0.21 a share for a 5.14% yield.

Edison Intl (NYSE: EIX) hiked its dividend to $0.35 a share, up from $0.33. Shares yield 3.11%.

Fortune Brands Home & Security Inc. (NYSE: FBHS) increased its quarterly dividend 20% to $0.12 a share up from $0.10. Shares yield 1.14%.

Franklin Resources Inc. (NYSE: BEN) upped its quarterly dividend to $0.12 a share from $0.10 to give a yield of 0.88%.

General Electric Inc. (NYSE: GE) raised its quarterly dividend $0.03, or 16%, to $0.22 a share, for a 3.3% yield. That marks the sixth increase since July 2010. GE has paid uninterrupted dividends since 1899. The Dow component ended last week at $26.64, near its 12-month high of $27.50.

Hanover Insurance Group Inc. (NYSE: THG) hiked its quarterly dividend 12% to $0.37 a share, up from $0.33. The stock has a yield of 2.53%.

Jacksonville Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: JXSB) raised its dividend 6.7% to $0.08 a share for a 1.64% yield.

Morningstar Inc. (Nasdaq: MORN) moved its quarterly dividend higher by 36% to $0.17 a share, up from $0.12. Shares yield 0.87%.

One Liberty Properties Inc. (NYSE: OLP) boosted its quarterly dividend by $0.02 to $0.37 a share for a 7.11% yield.

PNM Resources Inc. (NYSE: PNM) increased its dividend to $0.18 a share. The 12% increase gives shares a 3.17% yield.

Rent-A-Center Inc. (Nasdaq: RCII) raised its quarterly dividend 9.5% to $0.23 a share, up from $0.21. The new yield is 2.76%.

Tri-Continental Corp (NYSE: TY) increased its quarterly dividend 0.3% to $0.16 a share for a fresh yield of 3.4%.

Ventas Inc. (NYSE: VTR) upped its quarterly dividend 8% to $0.72 a share from $0.67 for a 5.18% yield.

W.P. Carey Inc. (NYSE: WPC) increased its quarterly dividend a penny to $0.87 a share. The real estate investment trust yields 5.17%.

WD 40 Co. (Nasdaq: WDFC) hiked its quarterly dividend 9.7% to $0.34 a share, up from $0.31. Shares yield just under 2%.
