The Finish Line Youth Foundation Announces Nearly $100,000 in Grants for Q4 2013

The Finish Line Youth Foundation announced today the award of $95,100 to grant recipients in the fourth quarter of 2013. The 17 grants went to organizations that place an importance on youth development and an active lifestyle in 13 states and Washington, D.C.

“The Youth Foundation is proud to serve these and many other children’s organizations across the nation,” said Marty Posch, executive director of the Finish Line Youth Foundation. “Whether it’s seeing a participant cross the finish line at the Kids Triathlon in Houston or watching a player make her first basket at Enplay in Nashville, we know just from the smiles that these grants are impactful.”

The Finish Line Youth Foundation supports qualified non-profit organizations that provide community-based access to athletics for children and camps that provide services to those who are disadvantaged or disabled.

The deadline to submit grant applications at www.flyf.org for this quarter is March 31.

LEGACY GRANT

• Foundation for Dreams (Bradenton, Fla.) - $25,000 to build a playground for children with special needs and chronic illnesses. The Foundation for Dreams’ goal is to provide a special place for kids that gives them an opportunity to bond with others and build their self-confidence. CAMPS

• Camp Joy Foundation (Clarksville, Ohio) - $5,000 to fund camp scholarships for underserved youth.
• Helping Hands Center for Special Needs (Columbus, Ohio) - $5,000 for an upcoming summer camp for children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
• Jameson, Inc. (Indianapolis) - $5,000 to help fund a summer camp for kids who are impacted by HIV/AIDS.
• Joey DiPaolo AIDS Foundation (Bronxville, N.Y.) - $5,000 for a creative arts camp for underserved children.
• Nevada Diabetes Association (Reno, Nev.) - $5,000 to help fund a camp for children living with diabetes.
• The Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, Pa.) - $5,000 to fund an overnight recreational camp for children with kidney disease and their siblings and friends.
• Valley Forge Educational Services (Paoli, Pa.) - $1,500 to help fund camp scholarships for kids with autism.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES

• A Place Called Home (Los Angeles) - $5,000 to fund a health, nutrition and general well-being program for at-risk youth.
• All Grown Up, Inc. (Stockbridge, Ga.) - $5,000 to help fund a mentoring program for at-risk girls.
• Kids Triathlon (Houston) - $4,000 for a program designed to help train kids for triathlons.
• Open Door Youth Services (New Albany, Ind.) - $2,500 to purchase shoes for foster children.
• Social Development Foundation (Milwaukee) - $5,000 to fund a team building and mentoring program for underprivileged children.
• Tanager Place (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) - $2,100 to help fund the organization’s Girls On Track running program for at-risk girls.
• Teen Runs DC (Washington, D.C.) - $5,000 for a mentoring program for at-risk kids that incorporates running and fitness.
• The Enplay Foundation (Nashville, Tenn.) - $5,000 to fund a youth basketball league for underserved children.
• The Family Partnership (Minneapolis) - $5,000 for Youth On The Move, an active after-school program for at-risk youth.
