Guidance Software Wins Reader Trust Award in 2014 SC Magazine Awards

Guidance Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations™, announced that its EnCase® family of products has been selected as the Reader Trust Award winner in the computer forensic tool category of the 2014 SC Magazine Awards. The award was announced on February 25, 2014, at the SC Magazine awards gala at the RSA® Conference in San Francisco.

Hundreds of vendors who offer a product for the commercial, government, educational, nonprofit or other industries entered the Reader Trust Award category. EnCase was selected by a panel representing a cross-section of SC Magazine readership which includes large, medium and small enterprises from all major vertical markets such as financial services, healthcare, government, retail and education.

"The demand for security grows as threats become more sophisticated. To be selected by knowledgeable security professionals as the best makes a bold statement about the power of a product,” said Illena Armstrong, vice president of editorial, for SC Magazine. “The SC Magazine Awards are the premier recognition for IT security professionals and products that fend off the myriad security threats in today's corporate world.”

"This acknowledgement by SC Magazine readers for the fourth time in the last five years is a testament to the impact that the EnCase family of products has on enterprises,” said Victor Limongelli, president and chief executive officer of Guidance Software. “Guidance Software will strive to continually build on the success of the EnCase product line in a way that solves the most critical, real-world cybersecurity and digital-investigations challenges.”

Guidance Software's EnCase is a powerful, judicially accepted, platform that provides the foundation for corporations, government agencies and law enforcement to conduct thorough and effective digital investigations of any kind, including intellectual property theft, incident response, compliance auditing and responding to e-discovery requests‒all while maintaining the forensic integrity of the data. EnCase allows customers to conduct more complete investigations than its competitors with an additional integration with a cloud-based e-discovery platform, as well as security information and event managers (SIEM) for automated incident response.

Now in its 17th year, the SC Awards continues to gain momentum with several hundred nominations in more than 30 categories. The annual awards showcase the best solutions, services and professionals while recognizing achievement and technical excellence. SC Magazine distinguishes the achievements of the security professionals in the field, the innovations happening in the vendor and service provider communities and the fervent work of government, commercial and nonprofits.
