Coventry Gives Iowa and Nebraska Businesses Access to New National Network Product

Coventry Health Care today announced a new solution that could significantly reduce health care premiums for Iowa and Nebraska businesses with employees in other states.

Effective April 1, all Coventry point-of-service (POS) plans in Iowa and Nebraska will include the Coventry National Network as a “wrap” around their current benefits. This means that members with POS plans will be able to access a national network of providers at preferred, in-network benefit levels. The change will be effective for both current and new customers.

“Wrapping our entire national network around our Iowa and Nebraska POS product will deliver an affordable new choice for customers who, until now, have had to choose a more expensive preferred provider organization (PPO) product for out-of-state network coverage,” said Dale Mackel, president of Coventry’s Iowa and Nebraska operations.

Members will receive new ID cards in April that will add the Coventry National Network logo to their ID card.

The Coventry National Network includes more than 700,000 care providers including 6,800 hospitals across the nation.
