Xylem to join U.S. water industry groups at Water Week 2014 in Washington, D.C.

Xylem Inc. (NYSE:XYL), a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, will join prominent U.S. water organizations at the inaugural Water Week in Washington, D.C. from April 7-11. Water Week 2014 provides an opportunity for Xylem and other water technology leaders to advocate for clean water policies and initiatives, showcase innovative approaches to sustainable water management, and inform our nation’s leaders about the importance of clean water to public health, the environment, and a strong economy.

“Water has never been more important to America’s economic future,” said Albert Cho, vice president of strategy and business development at Xylem. “On the one hand, our water resources and infrastructure are supporting America’s economic revival. On the other hand, our infrastructure is aging and requires significant investment – not only to meet existing needs, but also to ensure that our communities become more resilient to water risks such as Superstorm Sandy and the California drought. Investing in innovative water technologies will renew America’s water infrastructure, accelerating economic growth and job creation, building community resilience, and improving the environment and public health.”

Organized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA), the Water Environment Federation (WEF), and the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF), with support from national, state, and regional water organizations, Water Week 2014 will bring water and wastewater professionals to the nation’s capital to discuss key legislative, regulatory, and legal water developments with members of Congress and federal regulators; showcase innovations and new technologies; and celebrate the progress of water professionals in addressing our nation’s water challenges.

The anchor event of Water Week 2014 is NACWA, WEF, and WERF’s jointly hosted National Water Policy Forum & Fly-In on April 7-9. The two and a half day agenda features Congressional speakers, policy briefings, visits to Capitol Hill, and roundtable dialogues with key policymakers. The event will culminate with a Water Infrastructure & Innovation Expo on Capitol Hill, showcasing clean water innovations and technologies from utilities around the country.
