NIST Policy Advisor Adam Sedgewick to Present on Guidance Software Webinar, “NIST Cybersecurity Framework: Implementing the Respond Function”

Recognizing the dire consequences of a successful cyber attack on the nation’s critical infrastructure, the Federal Government’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) developed security guidelines, which were published in the NIST Cybersecurity Framework in February of this year.

Guidance Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations™, announced today that Senior Information Technology Advisor Adam Sedgewick of NIST will be the featured presenter on a webinar hosted by Guidance Software called, “NIST Cybersecurity Framework: Implementing the Respond Function.”

“We are pleased that Adam Sedgewick, who led the efforts to create the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, is joining us to talk about its development and goals,” said Judi Uttal, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Guidance Software. “Information security teams want to align their practices with the highly functional NIST Framework, and our EnCase products enable companies and government agencies to effectively do so.”

The Framework Core provides a mapping of cybersecurity related activities, including identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover. EnCase products help organizations identify, detect, and respond to security incidents.

The webinar, “NIST Cybersecurity Framework: Implementing the Respond Function,” will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific time and will explain the Framework’s respond function along with ways in which EnCase Cybersecurity can improve incident response accordingly.
