New MFPS and Printers in the Canon ImageCLASS Lineup Offer Features Designed to Help Increase Productivity and Improve Workflow

Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, announced today five new products in the imageCLASS lineup with enhanced features that can help to increase productivity and streamline workflows for small businesses users, office managers and home office users. These new products include the imageCLASS MF229dw, imageCLASS MF227dw and imageCLASS MF212w black-and-white wireless1 laser multifunction printers (MFP), imageCLASS MF216n black-and-white laser multifunction printer, and the imageCLASS LBP6230dw wireless1 black-and-white laser printer, the first imageCLASS printer with both wireless connectivity and automatic duplex printing.

“In an increasingly competitive market, home and small office customers have come to expect robust connectivity options and cost saving functionality at an affordable price,” said Keenan Thomson, industry analyst, GAP Intelligence. “Canon’s new lineup looks to address these needs by introducing the most affordable WiFi-ready imageCLASS B&W MFP to-date, while adding faster output speeds, cost-saving duplex functionality, and mobile print and scan capabilities to a broader range of models in Canon’s monochrome portfolio.”

Customized Features:

Designed with user-friendly features that support a variety of needs and budgets for different work environments, the MF229dw, MF227dw and MF216n MFPs are the first imageCLASS printers with a six-line black-and-white touch screen LCD display. With this feature, end users can customize the home screen so that they can access their most used features quickly and with ease.

To further help with efficiency, all of the multifunction printers incorporate the Quiet Mode2 option, which helps reduce operation noise for home office users who desire quiet printing and copying at night time, as well as business users and office managers who do not wish to disturb their colleagues.

All of the multifunction devices also offer an ID Card Copy function, which is useful in hospital settings and other environmental settings where users need to quickly record the information of a patient’s license or similar ID cards.

Mobile Printing:

All five models feature the easy-to-use free Canon Mobile Printing3 app, which is designed to help keep pace with today’s demanding and changing workforce. This app enables users in homes and offices of all sizes to send print jobs directly from compatible Android tablets and smartphones to their Canon output device, and the ability for Apple users to send their print jobs to their Canon device from their compatible iPhone and iPad. The four multifunction printers offer Mopria™ Print Service4, a simple solution for users to print documents, emails, web pages and photos from compatible Android KitKat 4.4 smartphones and tablets.

Mobile Scanning:

The MF200 models also offer the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business5 app for enhanced productivity for iOS users and now for the first time, Android users. With the Canon Mobile Scanning app, an iOS business user can scan items into their compatible iPhone or iPad device, and an Android business user can scan items into their compatible Android smartphone or tablet before they travel, so that they have important documents handy wherever they may be.
