PRLog - Sep. 3, 2014 - SYDNEY, Australia -- Applications will open on the 1 September 2014 for Screenwise’s Diploma of Screen Acting - Australia’s only Government Accredited comprehensive creative and technical screen acting course.

The two year, full-time Diploma of Screen Acting offers students the most advanced and critical acting theories and professional industry advice available today. It covers the full spectrum of skills training required to produce a high-calibre, professional screen actor.

Based on the Roberts Method, it mixes a strong academic element with a hard-nosed professionalism, providing total focus and immersion training in the unique skills and drama techniques required for screen acting to meet the demands of today’s industry.

Statistics show that 85% of an actor’s career-long income will be derived from film and television. With the majority of renowned acting schools in Australia focusing on theatre, Screenwise aims to give students the crucial skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the film and TV industry.

Screenwise’s popular Showreel Course offers students hands-on screen acting training and a professional Showreel at graduation. Auditions are now open for the January 2015 Showreel Course.

Screen Acting Beginners with Catherine Moore
This short course covers all the Screen Acting Basics including improvisation, actions, objectives, motivation, interpretation and scene analysis. Students can choose either Thursday evenings commencing 9 October, which runs one class per week for 6 weeks, or a Saturday morning commencing 25 October.

Screen Acting Intermediate with Alan Flower
This intermediate course focuses on methods that will help you present in auditions, and on set, as the unique you in a relaxed, focused, and charismatic way.  Course commences 7 October. One three-hour Tuesday evening class for six weeks.

Screen Acting Advanced. Tutor John Jarratt
Students explore scene work with the technical requirements for acting on screen. Course commences 8 October. One three-hour Wednesday evening class for six weeks.

Presenting & TVCS with Susie Elelman
The Presenting Course will improve your communication skills and develop confidence in talking to a camera, or to an audience. This course covers a variety of presentation styles, including children, lifestyle, infotainment, travel, vox pops and interview. Course commences 9 October. One three-hour class on Thursday evenings for four weeks.

Screenteens. Tutor TBC
Screenteens is designed specifically for young adult actors between 12 years and 16 years who want to make a serious move into the Film & TV industry. Course commences 18 October. One two-hour Saturday morning class for eight weeks.

Audition & Screen Test with Rhondda Findleton
In this Audition and Screen Test Workshop, actors will undertake intensive training to prepare them for future auditions and screen tests that they will attend as a professional actor. Course Commences 28 October. One three-hour Tuesday evening class for five weeks.

American Accent with Natasha McNamara
At Screenwise, we teach actors the vocal gymnastics needed to obtain an authentic American accent. Course commences 13 November. One three-hour Thursday evening class for four weeks.
