September 4, 2014 (Colusa, CA) – Colusa Casino Resort will host its 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf
Tournament on Friday, September 12th, at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club in Marysville, CA. The United Way, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives by mobilizing resources to meet the needs of our community, and Colusa Casino Resort are teaming up for the casino’s 2nd annual fundraising event, which this year will benefit the Yuba-Sutter United Way. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament will benefit the Yuba-Sutter United Way. Over 20 retired stars and counting have generously agreed to participate in this event. Some household names including Doug Christie, Bobby Jackson, Jeff Stover, Skip Vanderbundt and JT Snow will be golfing for a cause at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club on September 12th. Doug Christie and Bobby Jackson are best known for their time playing on the Sacramento Kings. Christie became a popular starting shooting guard and developed into one of the league’s best defenders and 3pt-shooter during his time in the league. Jackson played his best years of basketball in Sacramento, where he played for the Kings from 2000-2005. Jackson was known as “Action Jackson” and a crowd favorite during that time. Jeff Stover, two-time Super Bowl Champion, and Skip Vanderbundt both played for the San Francisco 49ers, and will be in attendance at the tournament this year. Stover was named the team’s starting left end in 1984 and is one of seven 49ers defensive players to register ten or more sacks more than once during their tenure with the team. Vanderbundt was drafted in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft by the 49ers in 1968 and started as outside linebacker for the 10 out of 11 years with the 49ers. JT Snow, best known for his exceptional defense throughout a 13-year career, won six Gold Gloves for the San Francisco Giants and is recognized as one of the most popular players in the franchise’s history. Golfers and celebrities at the tournament will be able to enjoy a Fresh Cigar Bar, Bloody Mary Bar, a Complimentary Stretching and Mobilization Station, Games on the Course and a Golf Exhibition by GOLFWEEKS 2013 Golf Entertainer of the Year Brad Denton. Damien Payne, Professional Long Drive Champion will also be in attendance supporting the great cause. After the tournament, golfers and celebrities are welcomed back to Colusa Casino Resort for an Awards Banquet and Dinner. There will be live music, silent and live auction items, and a raffle.
