hhgregg Hosts Grand Opening at Columbus, Ohio Store Location

hhgregg (NYSE: HGG), leading appliance, electronics and furniture retailer, today announced the grand opening of a remodeled location in Columbus, Ohio’s Sawmill Shopping Center (6440 Sawmill Road). The store reopens to the public on Thursday, Sept. 18, providing six Columbus-area locations to meet consumers’ needs for appliances, electronics and furniture.

Along with the Sawmill store opening, all hhgregg stores across the Columbus area will host Grand Opening Sales from Sept. 18-20, giving customers access to hhgregg’s market-leading national brands at exceptional prices. Through Sept. 20, the store will offer special pricing on products such as the latest in TV technology, home appliances, furniture and electronics.

“We have a loyal customer base in the Columbus area, and remodeling the Sawmill location will give our customers even more access to our best-in-class products and knowledgeable sales associates,” said Dennis May, hhgregg CEO. “As we’re constantly striving to best serve our customers, updating this location and offering special pricing across the six area stores are steps to ensure the best possible shopping experience.”

The Sawmill hhgregg store will reopen to the public at 10 a.m. on Sept. 18, and the first 250 customers in line will receive a $10 hhgregg gift card and a free breakfast slider from the White Castle Crave Mobile. Also at 10 a.m., Ohio State University legend Jim Lachey will sign autographs and hand out free t-shirts to customers.

The store will also host giveaways with prizes including an LG stainless steel kitchen appliance suite, a four-piece living room package, an LG 55” LED HDTV and a Samsung Jelly Bean tablet. Customers who register will automatically win an instant prize – an hhgregg gift card ranging from $10 to $100 or hhgregg-branded merchandise.

Additional grand opening events include:

• Chris “Beanie” Wells, OSU legend, will make appearances on both Friday, Sept. 19 (7-9 p.m.) and Saturday, Sept. 20 (10 a.m.-noon) to meet customers and hand out t-shirts.
• The OSU Mobile Tour will take over the hhgregg parking lot with games including field goal kicking and a prize wheel on Saturday, Sept. 20.
