CACI Awarded $53 Million Contract to Continue Support for Department of Defense Medical Logistics System

CACI International Inc (NYSE:CACI) announced today it has been awarded a $53 million contract to continue providing systems integration, development, and sustainment for the Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS) at the Joint Medical Logistics Functional Development Center (JMLFDC) at Fort Detrick, Md. This 4.5-year (six-month base plus four one-year options) contract represents continuing work in CACI’s Business Systems and Healthcare market areas.

TEWLS is an SAP® software-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) application through which Department of Defense (DoD) agencies order medical supplies and assemblages to send to forward-deployed troops in regions worldwide, including Qatar, Korea, and Germany. Under the contract, CACI will provide software maintenance services to support JMLFDC in the configuration, technical sustainment, and continued enhancement of TEWLS as part of the Defense Medical Logistics – Enterprise Solution (DML-ES), which provides a continuum of medical logistics support for the DoD’s Defense Health Agency. TEWLS consolidates numerous military logistics functions into a single application and database.

With more than 15 years of demonstrated expertise in medical logistics, CACI is at the forefront in supporting the operational and IT needs of the federal healthcare logistics community. Its technical expertise in using SAP and ERP systems to facilitate information flow includes providing TEWLS systems integrator support to JMLFDC since 2008.

John Mengucci, CACI’s Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S. Operations, said, “Our work supporting the Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System is an example of CACI’s commitment to excellence in both enterprise resource planning and medical logistics for the Department of Defense. Our SAP expertise and in-depth knowledge of DoD’s business process will help maximize the benefits of the SAP implementation and deliver more efficient medical care for our troops.”

According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury, “This award supporting medical logistics for our military men and women demonstrates CACI’s success in sustaining and growing our footprint in the healthcare and federal SAP markets. It also represents one of CACI’s most important mission support programs – getting medical supplies to care for our wounded warriors wherever they are, at their greatest time of need.”
