Consumers who have questions about baking their pie this holiday season can call the Sara Lee Pie Hotline at 1-888-914-1247, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST. Back for its second year, the Sara Lee Desserts Pie Hotline number is 1-888-914-1247. Experts are staffing the line weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST and Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST to make sure this holiday is predicament-free for those baking a Sara Lee pie.

Sara Lee pies have been an important part of holiday traditions for decades,” said Elizabeth Tanis, consumer affairs manager, Sara Lee Desserts. “We’re proud to be on the table and on the phone lines sharing tips to make dessert a success for bakers of all experience levels.”

Common pie questions Sara Lee brand experts hear include:

Q. Can I bake two Sara Lee frozen pies at the same time if they have different temperatures and bake times?

A. Yes; when baking two different pies, use the lower of the two oven temperatures. Place each pie on a separate baking sheet and check for doneness according to individual package directions.

Q. Can I bake a pie and turkey at the same time?

A. No; avoid baking your holiday pie with your turkey. To bake a perfect golden-brown pie, you must use a higher temperature than you would to cook a turkey for your holiday meal.

Q. Can I leave my pies on the counter overnight after baking?

A. Pumpkin and sweet potato must go in the refrigerator after baking. Fruit pies can stay on the counter overnight for one night.

Q. I left my Sara Lee pie in the refrigerator instead of the freezer, can I still bake it?

A. You can! Follow the directions for the frozen pie, using the temperature stated on the box; however, the frozen pie will need less time to bake because it is now thawed. On average, baking time will be reduced by 15 minutes if baking from a thawed state. Be sure to cover the edges of the pie with foil to avoid overbrowning.

To sweeten the holidays, the Sara Lee Desserts brand is also offering a discount coupon in local newspapers on Nov. 9 for any one of the brand’s delicious frozen dessert products, including fruit and seasonal pies. Consumers can look for traditional family favorites for Thanksgiving – including Cherry, Apple, Sweet Potato and Pumpkin Pie – in their grocery store’s freezer section.

Sara Lee pies are made with the highest-quality ingredients like sun-ripened Michigan apples and rich, smooth pumpkin infused with our special blend of cinnamon and spices,” said Jeff Kemerley, senior brand manager, Sara Lee Desserts. “With nearly 8 million Sara Lee Oven Fresh Pies sold during the holidays, consumers count on us for a convenient solution to bring homemade taste to their holiday table.”
