P&G and Walmart Team Up With Chicago Bears’ Jared Allen in Support of Veterans

In honor of Veteran’s Day, Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Walmart are partnering with Jared Allen, defensive end for the Chicago Bears, and his foundation, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, to help better the lives of Chicago veterans through the support of the Eddie Beard Homeless Veterans’ Housing Program (Vet House).

On Nov. 11 Allen will visit a local Walmart store to stock up on P&G products for the Vet House, an organization dedicated to providing interim housing for honorably discharged veterans. Allen will then make a personal appearance and a special delivery to the Vet House.

Additionally, P&G and Walmart are providing a year-supply of much-needed products for the Vet House including Bounty®, Oral-B®, Old Spice®, Tide®, Crest®, Scope®, and Charmin®.

“We house approximately 15 veterans at any given time at the Eddie Beard Vet House,” said Jackie Edens, Executive Director for Inner Voice, Inc. “We provide a range of services, and are always in great need of supplies.”

Supporting veterans is a very important cause for Allen. With family members who are veterans, Allen started his foundation, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors in 2009 following a USO trip to U.S. Military Bases in the Middle East. The mission of the organization is to provide financial assistance and support to injured veterans by building and/or renovating handicap accessible homes to support wounded warriors.

“I’m happy to have this opportunity to work with P&G and Walmart on a cause that’s near and dear to my heart,” stated Allen. “Our wounded warriors have sacrificed to protect our freedom, and this is one important way of recognizing them for their service and saying thank you.”
