Elgin Location is Premier Veterinary Group’s Fourth Facility Including Chicago, Grayslake and Crestwood
PRLog - Nov. 20, 2014 - ELGIN, Ill. -- Premier Veterinary Group, a privately owned animal emergency and specialty care provider, proudly announces the opening of a new location in Kane County. Animal Emergency of Kane County (AEKC), located at 796 S. McLean Boulevard in Elgin, is now part of Premier Veterinary Group’s expanding practice, which provides superior customer care and exceptional offerings including emergency services, internal medicine, surgery, oncology, and other specialty services.
“We are very pleased to be adding AEKC to our family of emergency and specialty veterinary practices,” says Matt Tompkins, DVM, co-founder and managing partner of Premier Veterinary Group. “This new location gives Premier a great presence in the western suburbs, which complements our other practices very nicely,” he adds. “It also gives us the ability to bring much needed specialty services to an under-served community.”
The facility in Elgin originally opened in 2010 as an after-hours animal emergency care center, owned by a shareholder group of local veterinarians. Premier entered into an agreement with the owners to purchase the facility and begin running it on November 21, 2014.
Premier’s newest location will continue to operate as an after-hours emergency hospital for the time being. Plans to expand the facility to a 24-hour emergency and specialty referral practice are currently being considered. “Like all of our other practices, AEKC has a wonderful ‘small community’ feel to it,” says Tompkins. “We are looking forward to working with a great group of local family practitioners to eventually transform the Kane County location into a Premier 24-hour emergency and specialty referral hospital.”
The location in Kane County is Premier Veterinary Group’s fourth facility (including Chicago, Grayslake and Crestwood). The Grayslake and Crestwood locations began the same way as Elgin, expanding from after-hours emergency hospitals to 24-hour emergency and specialty referral hospitals as they exist today. Premier Veterinary Group is celebrating its 20th year.
