Pomerantz LLP Announces Pendency and Proposed Settlement of Class Action Involving Silvercorp Metals, Inc. and Settlement Hearing

Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs hereby gives Notice, pursuant to Rule 23 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and an Order of the United States District Court of the Southern District of New York that a Settlement (the “Settlement”) has been preliminarily approved by the Court in the class action, In re Silvercorp Metals, Inc. Securities Litigation.

THE PROPOSED SETTLEMENT CLASS WILL CONSIST OF ALL PERSONS AND ENTITIES THAT PURCHASED OR OTHERWISE ACQUIRED SILVERCORP METALS, INC. (“SILVERCORP”) COMMON STOCK (STOCK SYMBOL: SVM) PURCHASED OR OTHERWISE ACQUIRED BETWEEN MAY 20, 2009, AND SEPTEMBER 13, 2011 INCLUSIVE (THE “SETTLEMENT CLASS PERIOD”), ON THE NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE (“NYSE”).

Excluded from the Class are Defendants, all current and former directors and officers of Silvercorp during the Settlement Class Period, and any family member, trust, company, entity or affiliate controlled or owned by any of the excluded persons or entities referenced above.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED, pursuant to Rule 23 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and an Order of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, that a hearing will be held on February 9, 2015, at 4:00 p.m., before the Honorable Jed S. Rakoff, United States District Judge, at the courthouse for the United States District Court, Southern District of New York, Courtroom 14B, Daniel Patrick Moynihan United States Courthouse, 500 Pearl St., New York, New York 10007-1312, for the purpose of determining, among other things,: (1) whether the proposed Settlement of the Class claims against the Defendants for fourteen million U.S. dollars (USD$14,000,000.00) should be approved as fair, reasonable and adequate; (2) whether the Plan of Allocation is fair and reasonable, and should be approved; (3) whether the application by Lead Counsel for an award of attorneys’ fees and expenses should be approved; (4) whether the Lead Plaintiffs’ application for reimbursement of costs and expenses should be granted; (5) whether the Lead Plaintiffs’ request for an incentive award should be granted; and (6) whether the Action should be dismissed with prejudice against the Settling Defendants as set forth in the Stipulation filed with the Court.

If you purchased or otherwise acquired Silvercorp common stock between May 20, 2009, and September 13, 2011, both dates inclusive (the “Settlement Class Period”), on the NYSE, your rights may be affected by this Action and the Settlement thereof. As further described in the Notice, you will be bound by any Judgment entered in the Action, regardless of whether you submit a Proof of Claim, unless you exclude yourself from the Settlement Class, in accordance with the procedures set forth in the Notice, by no later than January 19, 2015. Any objections to the Settlement, Plan of Allocation or attorneys’ fees and expenses must be filed and served, in accordance with the procedures set forth in the Notice, no later than January 19, 2015.
