Second Annual LA Tech Summit to Celebrate Flourishing Los Angeles Tech Community

Evidence of Los Angeles’ bourgeoning tech scene can be seen in the slew of marquee start-up success stories, successful IPOs and increased investor attention that has taken hold of the region in the past year. In an effort to celebrate these accomplishments and showcase what’s in store for the future, Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ:CSOD) will host the second annual LA Tech Summit, taking place on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles LA Live. The one-day event will bring together the region’s smartest, most successful entrepreneurs and influencers to celebrate what makes Los Angeles one of the most unique and vibrant technology ecosystems in the world.

Speakers include leaders in e-commerce, ad tech, digital media, enterprise software, entertainment and more. In addition, leading incubators, accelerators and venture capitalists will participate in and spark discussions on everything from what’s new and what’s next in LA innovation, to what it takes to survive and thrive as a startup in Southern California.

Last year’s event brought together more than 900-plus members of the LA tech community. Highlights from the 2013 event can be viewed here.

Features of this year’s LA Tech Summit agenda include:

  • Fireside Chat with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. One of the most forward-thinking public officials in the U.S. will share his views on why Los Angeles is a rising global epicenter for technology innovation and entrepreneurship, and lay out his plans for continuing to foster growth within the community.
  • High-Profile Speakers. The speaker lineup includes top founders, CEOs, executives and investors who are leading the charge in transforming Los Angeles into a technology and media hotspot. Speakers include: Adam Miller, founder and CEO, Cornerstone OnDemand; Peter Marx, chief innovation technology officer, City of Los Angeles; Larry Fitzgibbon, founder and CEO, Tastemade; Mark Suster, general partner, Upfront Ventures; Scott Painter, founder and CEO, TrueCar; Frank Quattrone, founder and CEO, Qatalyst Partners; Byron Deeter, general partner, Bessemer Venture Partners; Jeff Lunsford, CEO, Tealium; Therese Tucker, founder and CEO, Blackline Systems; John Suh, CEO, Legalzoom; Mamoom Hamid, general partner, Social+Capital Partnership; Joshua Reeves, CEO and co-founder, ZenPayroll; and Dana Settle, general partner, Greycroft Partners, among others.
  • Shark Tank Competitions. This year will feature two Shark Tank competitions: one for local universities and another for emerging incubator start-ups. The university Shark Tank will feature business ideas from long-standing rivals UCLA and USC. The winning team will receive $5,000 and expert counsel from leading entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. For the emerging incubator start-up Shark Tank, the winning team will leave with $10,000 and also receive invaluable advice from top investors, so they can hit the ground running with their ideas.
