MakerBot Celebrates the Holidays by Adding Five Beloved 3D Printed Sesame Street Characters to the MakerBot Digital Store and MakerBot Retail Stores

MakerBot is embracing the holiday season with a new line of 3D printable Sesame Street characters that are available today on the MakerBot® Digital Store and in MakerBot Retail Stores in Boston, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut. Five of Sesame Street’s most iconic and beloved characters, Elmo, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, who make up the MakerBot Digital Store Sesame Street Classics Collection, are now available to purchase, download and 3D print on a MakerBot Replicator® 3D Printer. Each of the models will be accompanied by a winter accessory celebrating the upcoming holidays. Best friends Bert and Ernie will have gifts for each other; Big Bird will accessorize with a holiday wreath; Elmo will sport Santa hat; and Oscar the Grouch will feature a holiday-themed sign on his trashcan expressing his usual grumbly mood. Models start at $1.99 per digital model and are available at digitalstore.makerbot.com/sesame-street-classics.

“It’s been wonderful working with Sesame Street to bring their characters to life through 3D printing, through the collaboration between Sesame Street and the MakerBot Design team. We are thrilled to announce the release of their most popular and cherished characters, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Elmo and Oscar the Grouch,” said Jenny Lawton, CEO of MakerBot.

The MakerBot Digital Store Sesame Street Classics Collection will join previously released 3D printable Sesame Street characters such as Mr. Snuffleupagus, Cookie Monster, Grover, Frazzle, Honker, Guy Smiley, Two-Headed Monster and Yip-Yip on the MakerBot Digital Store. MakerBot’s secure streaming functionality allows users to purchase and 3D print these collectible models without hosting files locally. For those who love Sesame Street characters but don’t yet have a MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer, 3D printed models are available for purchase at the three MakerBot Retail Stores in New York, Boston and Greenwich, Connecticut.

MakerBot, a global leader in desktop 3D printing, created the MakerBot Digital Store to sell original, fun and collectible digital content specifically designed for MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers. The MakerBot Digital Store offers a wide selection of 3D printable models that are verified by MakerBot as easy to print.
