Conifer Health Solutions Names Walmart’s Mecole Brown Chief Human Resources Officer

Conifer Health Solutions, the nation’s leading provider of technology-enabled healthcare performance improvement services, today announced the appointment of Mecole (“Cole”) Brown to the position of senior vice president and chief human resources officer. Ms. Brown served most recently as senior vice president of Human Resources for Walmart U.S. Store Operations (the company’s largest business segment representing 4,200 retail locations and 1.3 million employees). She succeeds Norma Zeringue, who will continue in her role as Conifer’s senior vice president of Strategy. Ms. Brown will report to Conifer President and CEO, Stephen M. Mooney.

In making the announcement, Mooney said, “Cole brings a wealth of experience in talent management, acquisition and development. She has led large teams, including over 600 professionals who managed the HR needs of team members across thousands of retail locations. Cole has been instrumental in establishing effective organizational designs, and she has worked in close partnership with Walmart’s operational leadership within a rapid-response and speed-to-market environment. In short, Cole will bring to Conifer a strong set of skills to help us successfully navigate, grow and prosper within our high-growth and rapidly evolving healthcare marketplace.”

Ms. Brown joined Walmart in 2002 as assistant general counsel. Since then, she has served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility focused on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) issues, employment practices, staffing and diversity, workforce analysis and development, as well as business sustainability. Prior to her association with Walmart, Ms. Brown served with Bashen Consulting, Wickliff & Hall, P.C. and Doerner, Saunders, Daniel & Anderson, L.L.P. Ms. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, both from Southern Methodist University.
