Tribal T-Shirts Add New Designs to Their Mod Clothing Range

By: PRLog
Spring will be arriving soon and the old die-hard Scooter Boys, Mods and Modettes will taking to the road to relive the dream.
PRLog - Jan. 22, 2015 - LANCASTER, U.K. -- It is at this time of the year that Tribal T-Shirts see a spike in demand for their Mod section.  It seems that the must-have clothing for the celebrant mod to wear under that parka is the t shirt.  In response, they have introduced more new designs to promote the icons and images of the Mod-era on their t shirts and other clothing items.

For those among their customers who may be unsure of what ‘Mod’ represents, let’s recap.  UK youth of the  late 1950s were bored of the rock n’ roll coffee-bar scene and were embracing the African-American soul- music of the US.  They were also adopting the smart clothing-styles of France and Italy, including the use of the scooter motorcycle; in particular the Italian Vespa and Lambretta models.  Full-employment meant money to spend on clothing, clubbing and scooters in a booming, optimistic economy which felt new and modern.  Thus the Mod-cult was born, and is still popular and influential today.

Mod Icons for Mod Clothing and T Shirts

Among the new designs featured are the famous RAF mod target t-shirt symbol, the clenched Black Fist and the lambretta scooter.  All are iconic of the Mod era, both politically and culturally; the fist is a symbol of the American civil-rights movement Black Power, which promoted the musical, political and social achievements of Afro-Americans.  The RAF symbol denotes the British-ness of the Mod scene and is instantly recognizable to Mods both original and new.

Remember the seminal UK movie Quadrophenia? It’s now available as one of Tribal T-Shirts new iconic designs.  Also included are designs featuring 1980s UK mod-revival band The Jam and UK Ska pop-act The Specials. Along with these revivalist icons, they’ve included designs which reflect the original Mod bands such as The Faces and The Who.  And no addition to the new designs is timelier than one featuring Brighton 64, when the Mod/Rocker conflict was big news.  They have also introduced designs which feature The Twisted Wheel, the famous nightclub-venue which was one of the great hubs of the Mod scene in the 1960s.

All these new designs are available in various t shirt colours, including our new range of strikingly visual neon-colour range t shirts, bags, hoodies and other items of clothing.  All are available on request.  Find them at Tribal T-shirts revised and expanded Mod clothing section.
