Verizon Wireless Earns Top RootMetrics® Ranking for Overall Network Performance in Vermont

Verizon Wireless was the overwhelming network performance leader in the rankings of four national wireless providers in the United States in the third National RootScore® Report, issued today by Seattle-based RootMetrics®.

Among the four major wireless carriers, Verizon won the Overall RootScore award in the state of Vermont and scored the highest in Reliability, Speed, Data, and Call Performance. In addition, Verizon also shared the highest score for Text Performance.

RootMetrics, an independent mobile analytics firm, drove thousands of miles throughout Vermont, as well as testing many indoor locations. The company said its national study was designed to portray the consumer mobile network performance experience at a national and state level, beyond their metro-specific reports. Each RootScore is calculated from a combination of tests that are weighted to reflect the impact that a consumer would experience. Scores were based on RootMetrics testing performed in the second half of 2014 (July-December). The company ranked the four major U.S. wireless providers in six network performance categories: Overall, Reliability, Speed, Data, Call and Text.

“Network quality and reliability matters,” commented Dave MacBeth, Executive Director of Network for Verizon Wireless. “Although it’s certainly an honor to receive independent validation of Verizon Wireless’ network leadership in Vermont and across New England, as professional network engineers we are never satisfied. We’ve reinvested nearly $4 billion into our wireless network across New England since 2000, including $378 million in 2014, to continuously enhance the wireless experience for customers who depend on their mobile devices and smart accessories staying connected today, and to build the infrastructure that will support the advanced services of tomorrow.”

Verizon operates the nation’s largest and most reliable 4G LTE network.
