A Cup of Job is the dream of Christian entrepreneur Andrae Parks, an ordained pastor at New Direction Family Church in Joliet, Illinois. Parks got the idea for opening a coffee shop with a Christian atmosphere while at Starbucks. Now, Parks has launched an IndieGoGo campaign at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cup-of-job to raise funds for building and stocking the coffee shop as well as starting up the business.
According to Dave, Andrae’s friend and business partner, “The most important thing in common is our dream of promoting God. Have you ever found yourself at church after the Pastor finished up his sermon, and notice that time flew by because you were enjoying the company of others. I’ve been there, too. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a place outside our beloved churches? A place where we could go and continue spending time in an environment that promotes, supports, and values God.”
The idea behind Cup of Job is to provide young people an atmosphere in which they can promote their creative talents in a Christian setting. The founders intend to support Christian writers, musicians, producers and artists by showcasing a writer’s story, a musician’s song and a motivational sermon weekly as well as reserving wall space for artist’s work. Ten percent of all purchases will go towards worthy local charities.
A Cup of Job will also sell quality coffee at affordable prices and offer curb-side service to meet those in the community who do not have time to stop and savor their purchases indoors. Contributions will be used to secure a location, purchase furniture and decor and build an app for the company. Donation levels are available at a variety of amounts on the IndieGoGo page.
