Toyota and Houston Rockets Team Up to Support “Hiring Our Heroes”

Basketball is top of mind when March rolls around for a lot of the country, but Toyota and the Houston Rockets are spending the month of madness focused on raising funds and awareness for Hiring Our Heroes. In its third year of existence, the "Charity of the Month" sees the organizations come together to support local charities and make a positive impact in the community.

“Toyota is truly honored to be teaming up with the Houston Rockets to help support Hiring Our Heroes throughout March,” said Brent Hillyer, Gulf States Toyota vice president of marketing. “It has been a privilege to work with Hiring Our Heroes since 2012, and this year is no different. We will work relentlessly now and in the future to raise money and awareness to ensure those who have served this country valiantly have employment opportunities when they return home.”

At the seven home games played at the Toyota Center in March 2015, fans have the opportunity to visit the designated "Rockets Give Back" table located on the first level concourse and donate to an organization aiming to help veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses find meaningful employment. Since 2011, the Hiring Our Heroes program has helped hundreds of thousands of veterans and military spouses find employment through more than 850 jobs fairs across the country and several free online career-based resources.

One of those events is taking place on Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Toyota Center from 12-3 p.m. CST. The event will feature a hiring fair, networking opportunities, and workshops tailored for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, guard and reserve members, and military spouses.
