Mr. Matt Barnette, President, AMAG Technology, told us, "In our newest version of Symmetry, we address the tightened smart card standards to counter growing physical and cyber threats and as a result are making Symmetry fully compliant with Federal Identity Credential and Access Management (FICAM) standards. We are making Symmetry easier to install for our integrators by changing how access permissions are downloaded to the door controllers. While this may not sound like an important detail, every Symmetry installer will notice the difference and save time and money when they install Symmetry.
We have expanded our Symmetry High Definition camera line and added two new cameras. The cameras offer an affordable option with a great feature set. This is another way we are ramping up our video offering. All of the Symmetry HD cameras in the range include built-in advanced motion detection as standard, and contain an option to turn on high quality video content analytics right inside the cameras themselves. Alarms from the cameras can automatically trigger commands throughout Symmetry, thus enhancing the security capabilities.

SONY Electronics, Security Systems Division
Mr. Kenichi (Kevin) Mori, Director, Security Systems Division, Sony Electronics, told us, "Security is critical in the sports venue market, especially considering how many people attend a given event. Stadiums present several different needs and challenges, as they can be well lit during the day, allowing you to see detail easily across the stadium, but at night, the needs are different, so they need to be equipped with a range of cameras. Sony managed the A/V system installation at Levi's Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers. The project included hundreds of security cameras, installed throughout the stadium, practice facility, workout facility, parking lot and retail space to help safeguard players, fans, employees and vendors. Additionally, in both 2013 and 2014 Sony's IP cameras were used to secure and provide situational awareness for runners and spectators at the world's biggest marathon, the New York City Marathon. Safety and security at large scale events, like a marathon, have become a top priority and we have a wide range of cameras to support these needs from dome, bullet, 360 degree and pan-tilt-zoom. We supported the marathon with more than 50 Sony security cameras along the final leg of the route and at the finish line. Finally, hundreds of state-of-the-art Sony security cameras were in place during the FIFA World Cup in Brazil this summer. Sony was chosen for a variety of reasons, including its international scope, track record of success, previous work in stadium settings, as well as the seamless integration into Minas Arena's current CCTV infrastructure.

Mr. Matt Tryniski, Vice President, Defense and Environmental Solutions, SRC, Inc., told us, "UAS, also commonly referred to as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) and drones, offer many advantages. There are commercial applications like precision agriculture, film production, package deliveries, etc. And there are military applications like intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance and high-risk operations that no longer require putting a human pilot in harm's way. These applications are recognized globally, which has led to the proliferation of UAS worldwide. With such a large population of these aircraft, there is a pressing need to safely integrate these systems into the airspace and to defend against them when they are used for hostile purposes. More

The 14th Annual Smart Card Alliance Government Conference
Smart Strategies for Secure Identity
June 9-10, 2015
Walter E. Washington Convention Center
The Smart Card Alliance Government Conference was established over a decade ago, following the landmark government-wide security directive signed in August, 2004. HSPD-12 established standards for verifying an individual's identity and issuing a tamper-proof credential that could be rapidly authenticated electronically. The conference has become the annual gathering place for the original leaders of this initiative as well as the current heads of federal agencies and industry leaders who continue to set the standards for identity credentialing and access security. This year's conference will look forward to future developments in policy and evolving standards for government-issued credentials and their use by relying parties in physical and logical access systems, including use with mobile devices.
