MEDNAX’s Quantum Clinical Navigation System Certified by CMS as Qualified Clinical Data Registry

MEDNAX, Inc. (NYSE: MD) announced that its Quantum Clinical Navigation System®, a robust quality and outcomes data tool developed for its clinicians, has been certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR).

A QCDR is a new reporting mechanism available for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), the CMS program that uses a combination of incentive payments and payment adjustments to promote reporting of quality measures. CMS requires a very rigorous certification process to accept a quality data registry to be a QCDR.

“We are proud to be one of only a few anesthesiology QCDRs in the country to be designated as such by CMS,” said Katherine Grichnik, M.D., Director of Research, Education and Quality. “This certification provides a strong validation of the organizational commitment we’ve made to quality and outcomes data at MEDNAX.”

CMS qualified Quantum to report over thirty (30) performance metrics to be included in the QCDR.

The Quantum Clinical Navigation System was developed at Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants, which became part of MEDNAX in 2010.
