Citi Recognized for Innovation and Achievements in Structured Investments

Citi was recently honored for its innovation and achievements in the structured investments marketplace at the annual mtn-i Americas Structured Note Showcase and Awards Gala in Miami.

Citi was recognized as an industry leader in two categories: U.S. Investor Solutions and Deal of the Year by mtn-i, a London based global provider of market information for global structured notes, private placements and MTN market coverage.

“These accolades reflect the strategic investments we’ve continued to make in the global structured products business,” said Barbara Mullaney, Global Head of Citi Private Client Solutions. “We remain committed to delivering innovative solutions and services in order to best suit our clients’ needs.”

Since its June 2011 launch, Citi’s ‘smart beta’ index has outperformed its benchmark, the S&P 100 Net TR Index. As a result, the Citi VIBE Equity U.S. Net Total Return Index placed in the top rankings by mtn-i in the Investor Solutions category.

“Citi’s VIBE index strategy offers US large-cap equity exposure while seeking to reduce volatility and is made available to investors globally in different wrappers,” according to Emanuele di Stefano, Head of Citi Investment Strategies Equities and Multi-Asset.

Citi was also awarded Deal of the Year for a series of IBRD Leveraged Steepener Notes, brought to market in 2014. Citi is a top issuer and underwriter of interest-rate structured notes and deposits and the firm continues to be an innovator in the space.

“We saw strong interest in rate-linked notes from U.S. investors last year, including callable leveraged CMS spread notes, callable step-up notes and callable floaters”, said Jason Pizer, Head of Citi NAM Rate Structuring and Solutions Trading. “We continue to evolve our offerings based on client demand and market conditions.”

The bank’s structured investments are designed to meet a range of financial goals including yield enhancement, hedging risk and access to global markets.

Citi, the leading global bank, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions. Citi provides consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.
