Kidd Roofing of Austin, Texas, has received GAF’s most prestigious contractor award: The GAF President’s Club Award. This highly coveted award recognizes Kidd Roofing as one of the “elite of the elite” residential roofing contractors in the United States.
GAF is North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and only GAF Master Elite(r) Contractors can compete for its President’s Club Award. To qualify for this award, a contractor must demonstrate an exceptional level of excellence in their business, especially in the areas of Installation Excellence, Consumer Protection, and Installer Training.
Kidd Roofing has been a GAF Master Elite(r) Contractor since 2000. To become a Master Elite(r) Contractor–a status that less than 2% of roofing contractors nationwide have achieved–a candidate must demonstrate proper licensing and adequate insurance, have a proven reputation and show commitment to ongoing professional training.
“We do it all,” states Chris Lowe of Kidd Roofing. “Shingle roofs, metals roofs, tile roofs. Single-ply or modified. Commercial and residential. New construction and reroof. Wall Cladding on the exterior of buildings. Our goal is to be diversified, and there’s really no job too large or too small for us to handle.”
According to Lowe, communication is key to great customer service. “We get in front of the customers and keep them informed of what we’re going to do. The communication is constant, especially when the job is in progress. It’s important for the customer to know the schedule–there’s nothing more frustrating than when you don’t know what’s going on with your own job and you can’t get hold of anybody. We really try to take care of the customer in that regard.”
Because of its growth, Kidd Roofing has been part of Inc. 5000 list for the last two years. “We have offices in Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio,” adds Lowe. But size and growth don’t mean that the company has lost the local touch. “We get a lot of referrals and have a good reputation because of our workmanship. People have heard of us, they research us–and they know about us being a GAF Master Elite contractor, and that helps quite a bit. And we try to have the best quality there is. People talk about that.”
Kidd gives back to the community. “We’re involved with Habitat for Humanity; we do four or five of those a year,” says Lowe. “That’s rewarding for us. And currently, we’re doing a roof in Dallas for Operation Finally Home, which builds homes for wounded and ill veterans.”
The company’s plans for the future include maintaining high quality, giving the best warranties, and taking care of homeowners. It also looks forward to gaining ground in the San Antonio and Dallas markets.
“We might not be cheapest,” concludes Lowe, “but we’re always the best. That’s the approach we take. We don’t cut corners. We just put on the best roof possible.”
