Award Winning Product Developer The Handy Camel Launch Indiegogo Campaign For Renegade Broom

By: Get News
Renegade Broom is Germany’s best-engineered outdoor broom, currently being sold as the Fritze Outdoor Broom and is considered a “rake” broom in Australia.

Kansas City-based company, The Handy Camel, is known for its design and manufacture of innovative products in the home and garden industries.

Their first product, the Handy Camel bag clip launched in 2013 to huge success including winning “Best New Garden Accessory” award at a major DIY show in London, February 2015. Now, the makers of the Handy Camel are back with their newest product, the Renegade Broom.

In fact, on August 18, 2015, The Handy Camel will launch their Indiegogo fundraising campaign.  By October 1, 2015, the Italian-made broom with a retractable handle [for short and/or tall use], and innovative rake-shaped bristles, will begin to roll out to U.S. consumers.

According to Tom Gray, CEO, Handy Camel, and sheep farmer, “The Renegade Broom is a side-sweep or pull broom instead of a ‘push’ broom. The broom has curved bristles, achieved through a secret process. This technology enables the broom to reach into the smallest nooks and crannies, allowing the consumer to sweep and rake with ease.”

The Renegade Broom picks up 90% more of the dirt that traditional brooms leave behind, and works wonders for pulling pet hair out of the carpet.

Gray adds, “Because of the minimal effort required, the Renegade is ideally suited for difficult surfaces like driveways, paving, tiles, stones, garden beds and grassed and livestock areas.”

According to the statistics portal Statista, “Total sales of U.S. cleaning tools/mops/brooms vendors amounted to 1.96 billion U.S. dollars in 2013.”

Currently, the Renegade Broom is Germany’s best-engineered outdoor broom, currently being sold as the Fritze Outdoor Broom and is considered a “rake” broom in Australia. To date, no U.S. company has been able to supply or produce this broom until now.

Gray claims “the Handy Camel has fostered an innovative culture, creating a number of gadgets to make farm work easier.”

Still a sheep farmer in the Kansas City area, Gray’s work eventually led him to create Handy Camel, which he operates with his wife, Amy Gray. The company creates home and garden products that are sold around the world, including its flagship product, the Giant Camel Bag Clip. Already offering a handful of products, and with the goal of bringing several more home and garden products to life, the Handy Camel plans to expand its business with an anticipated $600,000 funding round which will be completed this fall.

This funding round will anchor their side business, Ewe Invent, a product review, idea-to-market type manufacturing business that will license promising ideas of they are the “right” fit. Ewe Invent, is a nod to the sheep farm the Grays operate in the northland.

About Handy Camel

The Handy Camel began with the giant Handy Camel Bag Clip.  Born of necessity, this signature product was conceived and designed by farm and construction workers who needed a sturdy tool to seal and carry and pour large product bags of all kinds. From there, the company expanded its search for a wider range of high-quality consumer product inventions that offer multiple uses in a single simple product. The latest addition to that lineup is The Handy Camel.
