Who do you know that is affected by autism? Help families get a jump start on autism with MC Companies

By: PRLog
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Oct. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Who do you know that is affected by autism? There are 3 million children in the United States with autism. The chances of your child being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder today is 1 in 68. This is why MC Companies has begun a crowdfunding campaign called Jumpstart4Autism to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and early intervention programs.

Organizations like the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC), and Autism Speaks are on the front lines of developing new programs for education, awareness, research and support for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. One program, JumpStart©, is leading the fight in early intervention. JumpStart©, is a 5 week course for parents, caregivers and children that have been diagnosed with or are at risk of autism spectrum disorder up to six years old.

The Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) has created this innovative program understanding that, no diagnosis is the same and the earlier a child begins treatment, the better the chance they have of a high quality, independent life.

“The research and programs that SARRC and Autism Speaks are doing are incredible,” says Vice President of Marketing, Eric Brown. “People travel from all around the United States, and even the world to participate in programs offered by SARRC. These organizations need support and funding to help even more families get the help they need.”

JumpStart© serves 60-80 families a year and currently has a 6 month wait list. The demand for this program is growing drastically and SARRC needs help to serve more children. SARRC, a not for profit community-based organization, does not have funding to expand this effective and highly regarded early intervention program.

The total cost for SARRC to provide this evidence-based program to each family is $2,000. Scholarships, are available to help parents pay for the program – which are made possible by private grants and donations, but families are asked to pay $500. SARRC relies on the generosity of donors to cover the remaining $1,500 of the program cost. MC Companies is raising $160,000 to further fund the JumpStart© program and help more families gain access to programs and education sooner.
