Markets extend losses at midday

The markets extended its losses during the midday with the Dow collapsing 210 points to 17,700. Nasdaq plunged 62 points to 5,084.

Block & Leviton initiated an investigation into Flotek Industries (NYSE: FTK) for potential securities violations.

In the broad market, declining issues outpaced advancers by a margin of 6 to 1 on the NYSE and by nearly 7 to 3 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 plunged 25 points to 2,073. Bitcoin gained $8 to $375.
