TACOMA, Wash. - Nov. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Life Center Church has been providing Thanksgiving dinners for nearly 50 years to Tacoma and surrounding residents. This year, Dean Curry, the senior pastor of Life Center will welcome Representative Derek Kilmer to the Thanksgiving morning service at 9am to help those in need this holiday.
Representative Kilmer will lend a hand by working side by side with other volunteers, helping load a semi truck with non-perishable items that will go to families in need over the holiday season.
Always encouraging his congregation to focus on others, Pastor Dean is asking the community to bring double the amount of food they normally give. The food drive, benefiting the Real Life Resource Center, will be held during each of the Thanksgiving services. The first is on Wednesday, November 25 at 7pm and the other one will be held on Thursday, Thanksgiving morning at 9 am.
In addition to the food drive being held, Life Center will be providing 400 holiday meals to families in the Tacoma School District for Christmas. “Life Center is all about the people in our community, which we call the 253. It is always gratifying to see so many people with the heart to show up and help a worthy cause. We are very much looking forward to working with Representative Kilmer to do just that — help people,” said Curry.
Life Center, located at 1717 S. Union Ave., invites the entire community to be a part of the Thanksgiving services and/or to drop off non-perishable food items.
