Kentucky Residents Can Now View 2015 Motor Vehicle Tax Information Online

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC)’s website, Drive.ky.gov, allows motorists to access their 2015 vehicle property taxes online during tax season.

The website also offers citizens information on licensing, driving history, as well as vehicle and watercraft registration. The portal also provides information for motor carriers and driving professionals.

“During tax season, county clerks across the state receive a tremendous number of calls requesting tax information, which absorbs valuable time, labor and resources from our clerks,” said Rodney Kuhl, Commissioner of the Department of Vehicle Regulation.

Motorists can look up the taxes paid on any of their vehicles simply by entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). No personal information is released, only the taxes that were paid for each VIN entered. Any vehicle having a VIN that had taxes paid in 2015 will be in the database.

The site was built at no-cost for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet through a public-private partnership with Frankfort-based Kentucky Interactive, LLC.
