CACI International Inc (NYSE MKT: CACI) and Virginia Tech’s Ted and Karyn Hume Center for National Security and Technology announced today that they have entered into a partnership to develop the next generation of technology leaders in cyber-physical system security. During the five-year partnership, CACI will be an anchor partner in the Hume Center’s Cyber-Physical System Security (CPSS) program, with a focus on cyber security for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Under the terms of this agreement, CACI will be working closely with academic experts and students at the Hume Center to develop curriculum, research initiatives, and support projects focused on cyber security threats to platforms, specifically including UAVs. This partnership will help both organizations meet the pressing demand for highly trained, highly skilled national security professionals.

Hume Center Director Charles Clancy said, “We are extremely excited to be working with CACI as an anchor partner in our CPSS program. Their commitment to innovation from today’s youth, post-graduate opportunities in national security, and focus on the benefits of research to mitigate key national security threats makes this a unique match that will help our students and faculty stay on the cutting edge of innovative national security technology and practices.”

Ken Asbury, CACI’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “The threat of cyber attacks on platforms like unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as industrial control systems, vehicles, and even weapon systems, grows more pressing every day.
