Aetna (NYSE: AET) and Roxborough Memorial Hospital announced that they have reached agreement on a new three-year contract that took effect Feb. 1. The agreement returns Roxborough Memorial Hospital to Aetna’s network of contracted hospitals for the first time since 2012.
Under the contract, members of Aetna commercial and Medicare Advantage plans will be able to receive covered benefits, at in-network rates from Roxborough Memorial Hospital and its physicians.
“This is good news for Aetna members in the Philadelphia area,” said Laurie Brubaker, president of Aetna’s operations in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Delaware. “We strive to offer our members broad access to quality facilities and physicians, and we’re glad Roxborough Memorial will be part of that effort.”
“We’re very happy to once again become an Aetna in-network provider,” said Peter Adamo, chief executive officer at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. “Aetna members in the Roxborough area can now conveniently and affordably have their care provided at the hospital closest to home.”
Aetna provides health benefits to more than 1.6 million people in Pennsylvania. Those members have access to a broad network of 238 hospitals and more than 80,000 contracted physicians.
