OrderUp from Groupon Launches in Pittsburgh, Offering On-demand Delivery from Top Local Restaurants

OrderUp from Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN) (http://www.groupon.com) announced that its on-demand food delivery app has expanded its service to Pittsburgh. Starting today, residents and businesses downtown and in Oakland, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill can use the OrderUp app to have food delivered directly to their doorstep from some of the area’s best local restaurants. Delivery is also available for students, faculty and staff on campus at the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, Carnegie Mellon University and Chatham University.

OrderUp is offering delivery for more than 50 local restaurants, including Penn Avenue Fish Company, Thai Hana, August Henry’s, Franktuary, Nine on Nine, Gino’s Pizza and the South Side BBQ Company, as well as national brands such as Chipotle and Noodles & Company. Diners can also use the OrderUp app to pay for their order via Apple Pay, process a group order and track the delivery to their location.

OrderUp will celebrate its launch in the Steel City with specials on popular delivery items, including pizza, wings and sushi, among other cuisines. In addition, the company is partnering with Ryan Shazier (@RyanShazier) and Markus Wheaton (@twheat002) to provide exclusive OrderUp deals and offers through their Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Founded in 2009 in Baltimore, Md., OrderUp currently serves more than 40 markets nationwide.
